Celebration of National Youth Day & Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav:

As you know this year marks the 75th anniversary of the Independence of India. The Government of India had named this yearlong celebration as “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. On special request of the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, Ramakrishna Mission at Headquarters and through all the branch centers had celebrated the occasion in grand scale through different programmes. We are happy to bring this report that we could actualise our vision of organizing six Yuva Sammelans throughout Assam and Arunachal states of North-East in connection with “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav relevance to Swami Vivekananda.”

Inspiration and needed initial funding we got from Headquarters, Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Howrah. Ramakrishna Mission, Dibrugarh is fortunate enough to get full support and cooperation from Uttar Purvanchal Bhavprachar Parishad No. I & II in actualizing the vision. We started this journey with Sri Ramakrishna Seva Ashrama, Jorhat on 10th July 2022 and short statistical report of each centres celebration is given below for your kind perusal:.

Sixth, the Concluding Yuva Sammalen was scheduled to be organized at Ramakrishna Mission, Dibrugarh. As we wished to invite the Hon’ble Chief Minister of the State, we couldn’t fix the venue and date at an early point of time. Lastly, Hon’ble Chief Minister was not available. We decided to organize at the premises of Ramakrishna Mission, Dibrugarh and on 12th August 2022. We cut short our target to 250+ youths from 21 schools of Dibrugarh city. Rev. Swami Achyuteshanandaji Maharah, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Narottam Nagar, Arunachal Pradesh was the Chief Guest, Prof. J.P. Saikia, Vice-Chancellor, Birangana Sati Sadhani University, Golaghat and Sri Pranab Paul, Asst. Professor, Dept of Botany and HOD, Dept of Biotechnology, Dibru College, Dibrugarh were Guest of Honour. Smt. Dipika Choudhury, DIS, Dibrugarh Circle too remained present during the programme and spoke to the assembled students and teachers. During the day-long programme along with Speeches, Interaction session and Cultural programme awarding Vivekananda Scholarship for education calendar 2022-23 to 40 poor but meritorious students of these participating schools were the main point of attraction. Due to the paucity of the space we could only entertain 300 (Approx.) youths and teachers in the Sammalen. Sammalen ended with a vote of thanks from Sri Ravindranath D Savdeykar, Principal, VKV Dibrugarh and National Anthem from students of VKV, Dibrugarh.
